Vitamin A is not called the "eye vitamin" for nothing, because it plays a key role in the visual process. Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and also supports the maintenance of the mucous membranes, such as the conjunctiva in our eyes.Vitamin A is a vitamin that is only found in animal sources. Especially offal like liver is a good source, but also dairy products or fish like herring and mackerel contain the eye vitamin.
Carrots are known to be the food for healthy eyes, and their beautiful color was the inspiration for the name "carotene". Some carotenoids are precursors of vitamin A, of which beta-carotene is probably the best known and can be converted into pure vitamin A by the body.
